Wow. I just read the few posts from 7 (SEVEN!!!) years ago! I've left this blog alone because, you know, LIFE. But we've been living and loving this whole time! Adding new people to the world, too!
I want to get this blog going again because I want to share a challenge I've given myself. You know those time-capsule wardrobe things you see bloggers doing? Well, I've always wanted to participate, but I've only watched from the sidelines. This is all about to change!
I'm an Avon rep, makeup maven and new mommy. It's time to shake up my wardrobe! And lucky for me, Avon is hitting it OUT OF THE PARK with their fashion for fall and winter!
I am going to weed through my clothes, just like I do my garden, and I want to watch my new fashion sense bloom! I'm just in the planning stages, and the buying stages, but my goal is this: I want to donate as much clothing as I can and live in only the Avon clothes for fall!
I think I can do it. Stay tuned for another post with everything I'm purchasing to make this challenge happen!

Lots of progress!
So, let's see. We have a new MATTRESS! Or should I say, finally we have a bed! We were so lucky to "win" the mattress! We bought tickets at a benefit to win the mattress and box spring, but sadly our numbers weren't drawn - but my uncle's number was drawn and he gave it to us!!! So, so thankful! Thank you Uncle Jeff!
So, we had the mattress set. But we didn't have a bed frame. So, we tried an American Mattress nearby. The young man working was very nice and super helpful, and we were able to save $15 by buying a floor model. Well, we took the bed frame home, but it was defective - there were no holes to slide the hooks into! It looked like a piece was missing. We went back to the store the next day, and an older man was working. We told him our problem, and he was puzzled as to how that happened. The only thing he could think of was that the floor model pieces were put together wrong in the package. So, with our third trip to the same store, we brought our bed frame back in, and the older man replaced it with a brand new bed frame! Yay! I would highly recommend that store to anyone!
Also, just one more week until we get our new WASHER AND DRYER! Woo hoo! We have piles of laundry building up, and our new washer and dryer will find a very happy and useful place in our home!
Here's a tip: Be patient, and things will work out! That's the moral of this story! :)

Cleaning up starts now!
Unpacking is actually somewhat of a relief this time around. Instead of just moving stuff from apartment to apartment, I'm only moving the things I really love into this house. Thus, I'm clearing out the clutter! It's freeing! Although I wish I had done this before moving it all, I think the house itself is inspiring me to keep it clean!
Get ready for some new Avon news after tomorrow! I have a special 4th Quarter preview meeting to go to, and I'll get to see the new products that will be introduced soon. It'll be fun!
Here's a tip: It isn't too early to start thinking about holiday gifts. With the economy like it is, planning ahead makes budgeting a lot easier! Also, with Avon, there are so many great gift ideas that are also inexpensive!

Oooh! Love it!
Moving? That's so last week! Okay, so maybe the unpacking is still happening, but as of August 30, I've been out of my apartment! We worked so hard cleaning and moving boxes. I am so glad that's done! Unpacking isn't too bad, but that's the next challenge!
I got my Avon order! Ohmygosh do I loooove the hat and scarf and jewelry set. I've been wearing them to work all week! Also in my order was a black cardigan and the
BUTLER BAG FOR AVON!
It's in all caps because this is the best bag ever. EVER. It's perfect for organizing everything that goes into your purse because there's a divider set built into the bottom of the inside of the bag. Everything fits in its own spot! The other great thing about it? It's only $19.99 with a $15 beauty purchase! Or, you can buy it separately for $39.99. Either way, it's waaay less than what the Butler Bags are going for at http://www.butlerbag.com/.
So, how many do you want?
Here's a tip: Use the Butler Bag to organize your wallet, checkbook, lipgloss, lipstick, keys, cell phone, spare change, cell phone charger, magazine, notebook, pens, lotion, gum, iPod, coupon organizer, makeup, sunglasses... Or, turn it into a diaper bag! The possiblities are endless!

Ahhh!
The end to our moving boxes is near! We spent lots of hours yesterday (and earrrrly this morning) moving the rest of the boxes and cleaning. I have to do a couple more things this morning at the apartment then it's done.
So, part of this blahg is for sharing how we are making our house pretty. The other part is for sharing how to make YOU pretty! I've been an AVON Rep. for 6 years, and I love it! My mom is an AVON Rep. too, so we have fun doing this together. With this blahg, I'm going to feature the super cute/super inexpensive/super high-tech makeup, accessories, home goods and more. Just so you can see how super great they are! Like this cute set I just ordered:
These are actually from the trendy AVON line called mark. I've tried on the hat and scarf before, and I love them! I can't wait to get this in my order!
If anything every hits the spot with you, just let me know and I'll hook ya' up!
So, that's it for now.
Here's a tip: AVON makes it easy to find everything you need to put together an great outfit. Just like the group of products above, AVON does the work for you and shows you what goes great together!

First things first!
Today marks a bunch of milestones! One, I am finally starting my blahg. It's been sitting in my head for, oh, I don't know, forever! Problem is, no one else can read it! What better a day to start this thing than the 1-week anniversary of buying OUR FIRST HOUSE! That's right. The DB, darling boyfriend, and I bought our first house last Friday, August 22, 2009. It still seems surreal! Maybe because we're still moving things from the apartment. Hopefully by the end of today I can say we've moved out of there completely! Ugh... long day ahead.
Soooo. We're both super excited, beyond real words, about our new house. The previous owners treated it like it was their baby, and we're lucky to be living here now. Of course, there are things we want to do to update the house and make it our own, but there's nothing that is urgent or a safety issue. Because, let me tell you! There were some doozies out there when we were looking for our home. Bad all around. Ugly, that's one thing. Destroyed is another. For about 80% of the houses we looked at, we didn't need to go much further than inside the front door. No interior doors, strange smells, missing walls. Just bad news. If we were looking for a true, hardcore fixer upper where we would have to gut the entire inside to make them even livable, those would make the cut.
But, that's all in the past! We love our darling house! We have a clean, safe slate to start from, and we're ready to make it our own. First project was to cover the windows - this baby came with no window treatments. We hung curtains over our sliding glass door and 5 of the 6 windows. The 6th is a super huge window - I am not kidding. It's nearly 50"X74"! It's in our loft, and we'd like to keep things light and airy in that room.
Okay, I know this may cause a stir, but I'm going to come right out with it: I live in the same town as IKEA! It's less than 10 minutes away. I used to be able to keep an eye on it from the apartment building's 11th floor, but now that we're in our house, I just have to trust that it's still there. :)
So, that's it for now.
Here's a tip: draw a picture of the windows in your house and add the measurements right on the picture. This helps a lot at the store so you know exactly what you're getting!
